The Government of Western Australia’s Department of Communities (Communities) responded to the COVID-19 crisis with a $400+ million economic stimulus package that included a $220 million 2-year housing refurbishment program.
Communities had gone to market in 2019 with an RFI for an integrated Asset Management, Project and Contract (AMPAC) management solution and had been in discussions with respondents. With the requirement to start immediately with the COVID-19 stimulus work, Communities shortlisted 3 x respondents and issued a Select RFT for a solution to be delivered by SaaS (Software as a Service) to manage this program of works.
HKA was selected to supply and implement PMWeb on an aggressive timetable. Formal Kick-off occurred within days of Contract; PMWeb SaaS was fully operational in less than a week of Kick-off, including integration with the Communities Microsoft Azure Active Directory using SAML; and 7 weeks later all configuration was completed and tested, including integration with both Communities Microsoft Dynamics AX financial system and Communities’ central Data Warehouse. More than 40,000 Asset Records were also migrated and validated within this timeframe.
This presentation will explore a number of themes, including:
Review of the original GoToMarket for an AMPAC solution; what was needed for the COVID-19 stimulus work; and the responses needed to secure the Contract
Options to implement PMWeb, including Quick Start, managed Fast Track and full implementation using a blended Waterfall/Agile approach under an overarching PRINCE2 framework
Implementation tools used by HKA, including Trello
How the actual implementation played out, including infrastructure, configuration, integration, data migration, test and acceptance, training, Go Live and support.
