The Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment (EVCE) Training program consists of three distinct modules, each lasting 3 hours and covering varying levels of subject matter. The first module, titled ‘Transportation Electrification: B-A-S-I-C-S,’ serves as an introductory course. It covers the basics of electric vehicles (EVs) and electric vehicle charging equipment (EVCE), and provides an overview of emissions, EVCE infrastructure, and funding opportunities available in New York
The second module, ‘EVCE Feasibility,’ guides students through the complexities of parking considerations and what to look for when planning an EVCE project. It also discusses the importance of site feasibility studies and why electrical capacity is a critical factor for successful EVCE implementation.
The third and final module, ‘Installation and Managed Charging,’ delves into the multifaceted aspects of EVCE installation. This includes considerations for siting, hardware and software selection, and construction procedures. Additionally, it provides technical insights into various types of lithium-ion battery chemistries. Each module is designed to offer comprehensive knowledge tailored to different levels of understanding and expertise.
Led by experienced instructors, our training sessions provide invaluable practical experience, ensuring participants gain the confidence and skills needed to thrive in the world of electric vehicles. Our training program is segmented into three levels, designed to accommodate varying degrees of expertise and experience. You’re welcome to initiate your training at the level that best suits your comfort and knowledge. However, please note the following prerequisites for a comprehensive learning experience:
All participants must complete a pre-survey and a post-survey for each level or Module.
Should you opt to skip Level 1(Module 1) and proceed to Level 2(Module 2), it is mandatory to pass the Module 1 quiz to advance.
If you find any level particularly challenging, we recommend revisiting and successfully completing the preceding level to solidify your grasp on the fundamentals.
